What It Is
Baraka African Black Soap is authentically handcrafted in Wa, Upper West Region, Ghana using a centuries-old traditional process passed down through generations of local artisan soap makers. The base is shea butter and palm kernel oil, combined with water and traditional potash — a natural lye derived from cocoa pod ash rather than commercial caustic soda. This is what gives authentic Ghanaian black soap its distinctive colour, texture, and properties.
Into every bar, a full suite of ten natural botanical boosters is added after saponification: honey, turmeric, cacao, moringa, neem, hibiscus, baobab, lemongrass, aloe vera, and red palm oil. No synthetic fragrances, colourants, preservatives, or chemical additives are used at any stage. Each bar weighs approximately 125–145g, is individually wrapped and labelled, and has a shelf life of 24+ months when properly stored.
